With the economic boom in the early 2000s, Kerman saw a rapid amount of residential growth, so much that by about 2005, it was one of the fastest growing Cities in California. The economic downturn a few years later took its toll on Kerman, as it did with the rest of the Nation, but Kerman is beginning to grow again. Residential construction and home sales are increasing. In order to sustain that growth, commercial development must also increase. With the opening of Walmart, Kerman is now on a national stage with the potential for additional commercial growth, and the consequent residential and industrial growth that will follow as well.
The growth of a city needs to be managed properly. Growth is generally a good thing, but not if it's at the expense of another aspect of the community. My years of experience as a Professional Land Surveyor and Land Planner, including nearly 10 years working for Engineering firms contracted to provide Planning and Engineering services with multiple municipalities, gives me the understanding necessary to keep Kerman going in the right direction. My technical expertise and experience on the Planning Commission and Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency makes me uniquely qualified to understand where Kerman is going and what it will take to keep it going.
I enjoy working with the City of Kerman and with the Committees I'm involved with. I know I've helped make a difference since I've been working with them. I know I can also make a difference as your Mayor. Some may consider me to be a Politician because of my involvement, but I don't. I have no political aspirations past the City of Kerman. My only goal - my plan - is to help - hands on - with the continued managed growth of the City of Kerman, for Kerman to continue to be the community I want to raise my kids in, and for Kerman be the best City it can be for years to come.
